Conclusion
The economic, social, cultural, and political changes from the Transcontinental Railroad were profound. For the first time, the U.S. was bound together from east to west, bringing settlements and commerce to areas previously undeveloped. The resulting loss of land and buffalo diminished the Native Americans' way of life. The Transcontinental Railroad was a transforming innovation in American History.
